Deborah Savin-Curnier
Movéo Fitness’s founder designs training programmes that match her clients’ goals, ability, style and personality.
Sport, exercise and living a healthy and active lifestyle have always been important in my life, from gymnastics as a child to rowing as a university student, from long distance running to hiking hills and trails all over the world.
I first entered the fitness industry in the mid-90s as a group exercise instructor, teaching aerobics, step and body conditioning classes in the UK. In 2009 I returned to university to complete my MSc Exercise and Nutrition Science, before becoming an NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) International Certified Personal Trainer and a PTA (Personal Training Academy) Global Certified Personal Trainer. I am a certified suspension instructor and hold specialisations in corrective exercise, women’s fitness and whole-body vibration training.
I launched my personal training career while living in Hong Kong, operating as an independent trainer and taking exercise into my clients’ homes and favourite spaces.
Today I’m based in Southern Suburbs, Cape Town, welcoming my clients into the Movéo Fitness Studio in Constantia, a private space devoted to the health and wellness of women.
My strengths and professional interests focus on women’s health and fitness, specifically women in their 40s and older. I value the role of movement and exercise in coping with stress, managing the symptoms of menopause, defying the ageing process and living healthily well into old age. I have a particular interest in using exercise to prevent and manage osteoporosis.
