Three mat-based classes placing core strength at their centre
Our core is at the heart of every movement we make, stabilising our body and transferring forces from our arms to our legs and back. Maintaining core strength is essential if we want to move our bodies with motion integrity: smooth, efficient and controlled movement that minimises injury and maximises the health of our body.
Movéo Fitness’s Core B4 exercise series comprises three mat-based classes placing core strength at their centre and working to enhance movement along three lines: stability & flexibility, strength, power. Light dumbbells, bands and loops are used to create resistance, but working without them is always an option.
A class that flows, using movements that challenge balance and create space within our bodies by lengthening muscles and opening joints. Walk off your mat feeling taller, stronger and physically and mentally open.
A class that delivers a full-body workout by combining upper and lower body strength into exercises that challenge core stability and movement control. Resistance is created by the movements and muscle activation, but more can be added, typically dumbbells.
Every exercise will increase your strength, enhance your movement efficiency and build confidence in how you move on and off the mat.
A class with a punch, sometimes literally! While picking up the pace and raising the heart rate, control is still at the centre of every exercise. Tempo is personal and options are always available to take it up a notch, add high impact, stay low, reset and come back in stronger.
Feel powerful and resilient as you move in a way that challenges you, lifts you and sends you on your way with that post-exercise high.

Step n Strength and HIIT
Bringing back the 80s favourite! Step aerobics is guaranteed to get you moving in all directions, is definitely going to raise your heart rate, is certainly going to ask your brain to be on full alert and is absolutely going to pump you full of endorphins. Right there, an exercise class that will enhance your proprioceptive, cardiovascular, cognitive and mental wellbeing. Then deliberately slowing things down and using body weight and resistance equipment to turn the Step into a platform for strength training, it’s an amazing return on the hour of time you invest.
HIIT supports our bodies in so many ways and never more so as we, as women, transition through our menopause, losing many of the benefits higher levels of estrogen, progesterone and testosterone provide. Exercising in this way gives us back control of our body composition, enhances our metabolic health, helps manage stress, cortisol and inflammation, and supports our brain, bone and vascular health.
Alternating short bursts of “hard” exercise with time to recover before picking the pace up again, the class is all about finding the right level of intensity and complexity for you and matching it with an interval duration that meets you where you are on the day.
The instructor is there to support you and work with you to tailor and modify the exercises so that you can enjoy all the benefits of this fun, high-paced workout that brings benefits galore to your long-term health.

The Movéo Fitness Studio is a private space devoted to the health and wellness of women.
Classes are intentionally small, tailored to the needs and abilities of the women who attend, placing sufficient demand on their bodies to create positive change while safeguarding against injury.
All five of the classes described above are available at this location.
